No SMS, but Telegram says a code was sent
If the number was ever registered on Telegram before, the code goes to the Telegram app instead of SMS. Our providers supply fresh numbers, but if this happens, cancel for an automatic refund and take another number.
Telegram asks for a second code from another device
That means the number already had an account with 2FA enabled. Cancel the rental for a refund and request a new number — a clean number goes straight to the 5-digit SMS.
The code field rejects the PIN
Telegram codes expire quickly and are single-use. Use the newest code in your dashboard, and avoid tapping 'Resend' more than once — each resend invalidates the previous PIN.

What is a Telegram PIN?
It is the informal name for the 5-digit login code Telegram sends when you sign up or log in with a phone number. On a new number it arrives by SMS; on a number with an existing account, Telegram delivers it in-app to your other devices instead.
Can people see my number on Telegram?
By default Telegram shows your number to your contacts, but you can set 'Phone Number' visibility to 'Nobody' in Privacy settings. With a temporary number there is nothing personal to leak in the first place — contacts find you by username.
Will I be able to log in again later?
Yes, as long as you stay logged in on at least one device — Telegram sends future login codes in-app. Enable a 2FA password in Settings as a backup. If you log out everywhere and the temporary number has retired, you cannot receive a new SMS code, so treat the account accordingly.
