Your status tells Line if you can take calls. Only people who are **Available** ring. You set your status in the web app or the mobile app. Both apps use the same status.

## The four statuses

| Status | Calls | Phone alerts (default) |
|---|---|---|
| **Available** | Calls ring you | With sound |
| **Busy** | Calls skip you | Silent |
| **Away** | Calls skip you | Most are off |
| **Offline** | Calls skip you | None |

To change phone alerts for each status, see [Choose your notifications](https://useline.io/help/team/notifications).

## Change your status on the web

1. Find the status button at the top right of the header bar. It shows a coloured dot and your status.
2. Select it.
3. Select **Available**, **Away**, **Busy** or **Offline**.

## Change your status in the mobile app

1. Select your photo at the top right.
2. On **Profile**, select your status.
3. In **Your status**, select the new status.

## Set active hours

Active hours set your status on a schedule. You set active hours in the Line mobile app. They apply to you only, in the current workspace.

1. Open **Profile** > **Settings**.
2. In **Active hours**, turn on **Use active hours**.
3. Select the days that you work.
4. Set **From** and **To**. The start time must be earlier than the end time.

Active hours use the time zone of your phone.

## How active hours change your status

- At the end of your hours, Line sets you to **Away** if you are **Available**.
- At the start of your hours, Line sets you back to **Available**, but only if active hours set you to **Away**.
- Line does not change **Busy**, **Offline**, or an **Away** that you chose yourself.
- If you choose a status yourself, your choice stays until your hours next end.
- When you save active hours, Line applies them at once. For example, if your hours end at 17:00 and you turn them on at 18:20, you go **Away** now.

The status sheet in the app tells you when the next automatic change happens.

> **Note:** Active hours are personal. To change when the business takes calls, use business hours in a workflow. See [Set your business hours](https://useline.io/help/calls/business-hours).

## Common problems

**Calls do not ring me.** Check that your status is **Available**. Check that active hours did not set you to **Away**.

**I go Away in the evening without doing anything.** Active hours are on. Turn off **Use active hours**, or change the times.

**My status shows Offline on the web.** You have not set a status yet. Select the status button and choose **Available**.
